about · who does the work
One senior engineer, hands-on from the first call to handover.
There is no agency behind this site and no bench to keep busy. You talk to the person who writes the code, and that person is accountable for the result.
How the practice works.
Three rules that hold for a $350 session and for a from $35,000 build. They are written into every proposal before you pay anything.
01 / scope small and ship
The first sprint is fixed price and short.
An audit takes five business days, an agent one week, a website two. You see working software before a larger decision is asked of you, and the first milestone review decides whether you pay for that sprint.
02 / you own everything
Repositories live in your organisation from day one.
Prompts, evals, infrastructure accounts and data are yours. Handover includes source, docs, a runbook and a recorded walkthrough, so nothing depends on my availability afterwards.
03 / one accountable person
I do the work. Above roughly $25,000, I bring in vetted specialists.
They work under my contract and my review. You still have one name on the proposal, one person on the weekly demo and one person to call when something is wrong.
Stack.
What I reach for by default, and when I do not. Every tool is named in the proposal; I will not resell a platform you do not need.
| area | by default | when I do not |
|---|---|---|
| models | Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or open-weight models on your cloud. Swappable by design, chosen per task on evals. | When one vendor is a hard requirement on your side, that vendor, still behind the same swappable interface. |
| agent runtime and evals | On your cloud, open source first, with an eval set and a pass/fail report before anything goes live. | When a managed runtime is already in your estate and governed, I build on it rather than beside it. |
| web | Static or headless CMS. TypeScript where a framework earns its place. | A single-page framework for a content site; it costs you speed and accessibility for nothing in return. |
| mobile | Flutter or React Native, one codebase for iOS and Android. | Native per platform only when a hardware or performance need is written down and tested. |
| data | Postgres first. A warehouse or lakehouse only when it earns its place. | A warehouse for a database-sized problem, or a lakehouse because a vendor said so. |
| cloud | Your account, infrastructure as code, least-privilege access, a runbook you can follow without me. | Hosting under my account. You would be renting your own system back. |
| process | Written proposals, weekly demos, decision records for every choice that is hard to reverse. | Daily stand-ups as a substitute for a written plan; they hide drift instead of showing it. |
Standards I build to are listed on the Evidence page, with samples you can download.
Where and when.
Remote by default, on your timezone for calls and demos. The hours and the reply window below are live, not a promise on a page.
